This is a short video about strengthening the capacity of local agrarian communities in Cameroon, Tanzania and Zambia to harness and value their local indigenous knowledge and practices (LIKPs) on climate change mitigation and adaptation to enhance their livelihood. Secondly to engage with other stakeholders from local to national levels in the three countries to develop and implement policies, programmes and actions that place LIKPS with scientific knowledge and tools as complementary in helping smallholder agriculture become more resilient as climate change. It engaged local agrarian communities in six pilot areas in the three countries in community-based analysis and actions that placed them as co-create of knowledge on climate change adaptation and mitigation using their LIKPs and not only as victims of the phenomenon. This project funded by Australia Aid through the Australia Awards Small Grant Scheme that run from October 2015 to August 2016 in collaboration with host institutions including Action Group on Governance and Environmental Management (AGGEM) Cameroon, Tanzania Meteorological Agency,Tanzania and Copperbelt University in Association with the Zambia College of Agriculture – Mpika, Zambia.
